I’ve been a cage fighter, rock climber, float tank business owner, beekeeper, personal trainer, freelance copywriter, crawfish wholesaler, caterer, part-time shaman, and had a brief stint as a hunter-gatherer in the deserts of Utah. I’ve broken over a dozen bones, torn several ligaments, made it through 6 surgeries, and nearly died once or twice. I’ve been a true believing Catholic knowing certainty about the transcendent and had it ripped apart. I’ve been to the outer reaches of consciousness and seen the other side of the gates of perception Aldus wrote about. I own and operate Bon Temps Boulets Seafood and we create the best boiled crawfish in the world. I push, and explore, and only ever momentarily satisfy the bottomless curiousity that drives me forward.
I think I have a unique perspective; it has something to say. I love to create things, and my dream is to get to a place in life where the things I create are valuable enough to support my life; so I welcome feedback: criticism, and encouragement as opportunities for improvement.
My music is folk, rock, sometimes psychedelic, and eclectic. I play acoustic and electric; sometimes with loops; sometimes with a harmonica and harmonies; sometimes with drums. I play to make people laugh, or yell, or sing along. I love music that’s emotional and play a blend of covers and originals.
I grew up on classic country, southern rock, and outlaw country before it was formulated and repacked for wholesale; I love David Allen Coe, Alabama, Willie Nelson, Pink Floyd, and psychedelic wavy guitar solos. I love a song that’s hard to put into one box.
I got a radio when I was 8 years old; staying up late into the night playing with the little wire antenna trying to catch 94.5; keeping me sane when I couldn’t sleep. I love music. Playing. Listening. Creating. I love all of it. The music never stops playing in my head unless I get it out into the world.
I’ve been most influenced by artists like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Shooter Jennings Pink Floyd, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Jimmie Hendrix, Muddy Waters, and Bill Withers. I loved these artists so much I listen to who they were influenced by. My ideal sound is a mix of soulful vocals, powerful storytelling, and psychedelic instrumentation; it’s the sound I’m building to.
