Three years ago i fall off a cliff in Hawaii while rock climbing, break both my feet, and tear a ligament in my wrist.
As soon as that heals up i find out the spinal disorder I’ve had since childhood, spondylolisthesis, needs surgery, spinal fusion, if i want to walk or stand without pain.
Im a high energy, active person and being confined to staying still is torture for me. I pick up the old guitar that hasn’t seen much love the past couple years and 6 strings keep the wolves away. Music’s always been something to keep me sane, somewhere for the energy to go; now its becomes something more.
Last May i play my first public show after being approached and encouraged by a local promoter at an open mike night, thanks Nancy (@AcadianaTalent)!
Less than a year later I’ve played almost 20 small shows, including at my favorite venue in Lafayette, The Blue Moon. Spent three busking across Europe and playing a couple gigs in a cafe in Croatia and a small bar in Barcelona, and i have to file a tax return for playing music!
Im now engaged, in the process of creating my first record, “Unintended Consequences,” and going to play on a live streaming show for maybe a thousand people.
I never thought id say, “good thing i fell off that cliff,” but i know i wouldn’t be here otherwise, and I really love where im at.
Here’s the link to the show!
